The RCF SUB 18-AX 1100w is a portable 18" high-power active subwoofer for live sound applications with fully featured processing, a color touch panel, and remote control via Bluetooth®. The combination of a latest-generation transducer with a powerful Class-D amplifier delivers sound pressure levels up to 135 dB with exceptional clarity and headroom. SUB AX subwoofers are designed specifically for small to mid-sized venues and ideal for portable applications. SUB 18-AX is the ideal complement for 10", 12” or 15" woofer-size loudspeakers; it centralizes speaker management inside the subwoofer, providing dual crossovers, 8-band EQs, routing, delays, cardioid configurations, and recallable crossover presets. The polyurea-coated all-wood cabinet features a sealed Powercon True1 Top connector.

The key to optimizing your sound system is the precise adjustment of your subwoofer’s time alignment. This not only elevates sound quality but also enhances bass response. This gives your audience both the beat they can hear and the vibe they can feel.

With internal factory-tuned crossover presets for RCF speakers, your sound system is show-ready in a few easy steps. Simply connect your satellite speakers to the SUB AX, select the crossover preset and you are ready to go. FiRPHASE linear phase is extended to match the subwoofer phase down to the lowest frequencies.

Gig-Ready Solution

RCF cabinets are made of high-quality multi-ply hardwood coated with a rugged black (or white) polyurea finish. Subs are stackable and lightweight, have ergonomic handles with rubber grips, and are easy to set-up and tear-down. The M20 threaded pole mount on the top of the cabinet supports RCF speakers of various sizes.

The powder-coated front grille integrates a special transparent-to-sound foam backing on the inside to further protect transducers from dust. SUB AX Series subwoofers are built to last, with powerCON® TRUE1 TOP mains connectors. You can be sure that they will stand up to the rigours of use and transport.

Lightweight and powerful, RCF woofers are a reference in high performance. RCF Precision Transducers engineers have developed new specific magnet sizes. It molds to optimize magnetic flux while maintaining a low weight.

The magnetic circuit topology is capable of delivering the highest, balanced level of performance in three specific areas: maintenance of a consistent, high integrity magnetic flux gap, exceptionally low distortion and efficiently integrating the magnetic circuit in a minimum weight design.

The T-pole design optimization generates the minimum amount of flux modulation in the magnetic assembly during typical voice coil movement within the gap.

With 2,200 Watts of power, our Class-D amplifier can manage extreme sound pressure levels with an ultra-fast attack, realistic transient response, and very low thermal loss. The stereo input circuit features a low distortion design with an advanced safety limiter, maintaining the true character of the input signal at all levels.

RCF amplifiers are designed according to EN62368-1 for maximum safety and present a Switch Mode Power Supply section combining high efficiency with minimum weight.

Bass Motion Control

When searching for an extended bass with enhanced performance, RCF engineers found a way to remove the high-pass filter, replacing it with a forward-thinking approach. Introducing BMC (Bass Motion Control), the newly advanced woofer excursion management feature. The speaker equipped with BMC can handle the lowest audible frequencies without affecting the woofer stability, with extended linearity and better sound integrity.

The BMC method works by creating a complete map of the dynamic behaviour of the woofer. This generates a custom algorithm that only limits over-excursions. This gives total freedom of signal reproduction to the transducer. When high-pass filters normally protect the woofer motion from becoming destructive but change the phase behavior, the new BMC algorithm breaks conventional rules.
