Presonus Studiolive 24 channel Series 3 Digital Mixer

The StudioLive 24 digital console/recorder is by far the most powerful mixer in its class. This third-generation StudioLive mixer is fully recallable, with 25 touch-sensitive, motorized faders and 25 recallable XMAX preamps. Yet despite its extensive features, the StudioLive 24 actually improves upon PreSonus legendary ease of use while letting you customize its workflow and operations. The StudioLive sound is better than ever, including all-new Fat Channel processing, re-engineered from the ground up, and vintage-style EQs and compressors. Add built-in AVB networking, onboard multitrack Capture recording to SD Card, and a complete suite of software, and you have a mixing and recording powerhouse that's equally formidable in live and studio applications.

The unit features 24 input channels with 16 +48V phantom powered XLR XMAX microphone preamplifiers and 8 mic/line inputs via XLR-1/4" combo jacks. Additional inputs include two stereo 1/4" Aux inputs and a dedicated XLR talkback mic input with phantom power. For outputs, the mixer includes a balanced XLR mono output, a left and right pair of balanced stereo XLR Main outputs, and 6 XLR outputs, as well as four 1/4" mix outputs, and a pair of 1/4" monitor outputs. A digital output of the Main mix is available via XLR AES/EBU. Additionally, unbalanced stereo RCA tape inputs and outputs are provided.

For effects, the mixer features 32-bit, floating-point processing with 4-band parametric EQs on inputs, 6-band parametric EQ on outputs, eight 31-band graphic EQs, high-pass filters, limiters, compressors, expander/gates with key listen and key filter, reverbs, and delays.

For mixing, each channel features a touch-sensitive, motorized fader with choice of 1-to-1 workflow, which assigns all channels to the top layer (with one fader per input channel), or a split-layer workflow, which splits the faders between inputs and outputs, including DCAs and Aux outputs. The RGB select buttons offer user-assignable colors, while user-assignable buttons are provided for mute groups, scenes, and more. The new Fat Channel control offers 8 scribble strips, encoders, and multicolor buttons with a customizable user layer and 7" color touchscreen.

The mixer comes with Active Integration Virtual StudioLive advanced librarian/editor control software for a Windows computer or Mac, StudioLive remote control application for Apple iPad (free from Apple App Store), the QMix remote auxiliary mix application for iPhone or iPod Touch (free from Apple App Store), Capture integrated multitrack-recording software, and Studio One Artist digital audio workstation including a library of loops, plug-ins, and virtual-instrument sounds.
