Sabine SL820 "Solo" Feedback Supressor.
You want more gain? Increased clarity? Automatic feedback control? Want to save some money? Sabine has the answer: the new FBX-SOLO, a miniature version of the award-winning FBX-1020P Feedback Exterminator?. You decide which inputs get precision, automatic feedback control and maximum gain, from one channel to all your channels.
The FBX-SOLO SL820 is a single channel miniature version Feedback Exterminator based on the FBX-1020Plus. This solution for feedback control hosts several new features, including increased headroom, a programmable noise gate, and switchable input/output levels for more versatility. This model features 1/4" TRS phone input and output connectors for line level applications. The SL820 targets feedback without taking a big sonic chunk out of the source material, since digital FBX filters are 10 times narrower than graphic EQ filters. The unit functions by precisely detecting the feedback frequency, and placing super-narrow (1/10 octave) digital filters directly on these frequencies, and finally setting the filters just deep enough to remove the feedback. The results are more gain, increased intelligibility - narrow filters target the feedback and leave the source material untouched - and automatic feedback control, both in setup and during a performance. FBX filters come in two flavors. Fixed and Dynamic. Both types are placed the same way - feedback is detected and the filter is placed just deep enough to eliminate it. The difference comes after the filter is placed. Fixed filters remain on the initially detected feedback tone - they do not move. These filters provide the initial maximum gain before feedback and are set automatically during setup. Dynamic filters can release and move to new feedback frequencies and are for adaptive feedback control during the performance. The SL820 is the perfect solution for mixer insert points, powered mixer patch points, acoustic/electric guitars and guitar amps and for use with high-impedance microphones.
