VOX AC-30BM Brian May Signature Series Limited Edition.
Classic AC30 looks with black vinyl and diamond grille cloth - In the 1960s, VOX amps pretty much fueled the so-called British Invasion. Who can forget those original TV appearances by The Beatles with the back line of VOX amps behind them. Not willing to mess with a good thing, VOX wisely kept the look that created legends. Today’s AC30 Brian May model looks almost identical to those early 1960s VOX amps, with the black vinyl covering, gold trim and white piping, along with the classic diamond-pattern grille cloth. It even has the red control panel! With one of these incredible amps backing you up, don’t be surprised if you find yourself on TV soon! 30 watts of tube driven power with 15-watt power reduction switch - In today’s era of super-charged power amps, you might think that a 30-watt combo won’t rock the house. Well, don’t let the numbers fool you, because 30 watts of tube-driven VOX power will definitely get people’s attention when the volume is cranked up. For situations where a bit less brute force is required, the Brian May AC30 Limited Edition includes a special 15-watt power reduction switch. This not only changes the volume, but also reconfigures the number of vacuum tubes, biasing values and output transformer impedance, effectively changing the voicing characteristics of the entire amp. Too cool! Custom-voiced treble/mid boost circuit with gain and bypass - Brian’s wall of AC30s are all driven off the output of a little treble boost circuit that was built from little scraps of electronic gear by Queen’s bass player, John Deacon in the early 1970s. This deceptively simple circuit, along with the rich, warm sound of the original tube-driven AC30s is the basis for Brian May’s unmistakable solo sound. By carefully analyzing the "Deacy" booster, VOX was able to build it right into the Limited Edition AC30BM. They even gave it a bit more tonal range so you can totally nail Brian’s signature sound or go on to create one of your own. The circuit includes gain and bypass panel switches, giving you even more tone-shaping capabilities. Two Celestion/VOX Alnico Blue 12-inch speakers - Most people don’t realize that the voicing of any onboard speakers will have a big impact on the final tone qualities. To perfectly match the Brian May trademark solo sound, VOX equipped the Limited Edition AC30BM with a pair of authentic Celestion/VOX Alnico Blue 12-inch, 15-watt speakers. You’ll swear the designers brought these babies out of a time machine, they’re so period-accurate. From a clean, clear rhythm sound to an all-out sonic assault, these speakers can really pump out the volume, while still maintaining the overall warmth you can only get with a real tube amp. Includes padded vinyl cover embroidered with May’s Signature - If it didn’t absolutely nail his sound, you can bet Brian May wouldn’t put his signature on it. The VOX AC30BM comes complete with a durable, padded vinyl cover that is embroidered with May’s signature. Look, you’re buying a significant chunk of rock history when you buy this amp, so it’s only fair that VOX gives you a nice cover to keep it all nice and clean in between gigs or trips to the studio. With VOX only building about 500 of these amps, everyone will feel better with the extra protection a padded cover provides. Plus the coolness of having Brian’s signature out there for everyone to see, which says you, my friend, are serious about your own guitar sound!
